We’ve reached an important phase in the Associations dealings with Alwoodley Parish Council and the lease. The parish council and their solicitors are preparing an amended lease to present to Leeds City Council and if accepted it will form the basis of our lease with the parish council.
In readiness for signing the lease we’ve consulted the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners (NSALG) who have advised that we should either appoint representatives (trustees) or become a limited company. The committee are meeting on Thursday 6th November to discuss this. We’ll then prepare a report for the AGM.
I mentioned the AGM. We have just arranged this for Friday 21st November at 7.30pm at Old Leodiensian Rugby Club, Crag Lane, Alwoodley, Leeds, LS17 5PR.
It’s important that you attend because it’s your allotment association.
You need to be heard.
You need to vote.
You need to be there.
We have lost one committee member, Simon, who is moving out of the area, and Kevin, our secretary and one of the founder members of AAA is standing down at the AGM for personal reasons. We thank them both for their valuable service to the Association and wish them both well for the future.
SO we will need more of you to get involved, especially now we are at this critical point of negotiation, and would ask for your nominations for election to the committee to be sent to Kevin.
